Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a regional Voith Paper purchasing strategy in alignment with the overall Voith Paper strategy to deliver Products & Services products and CE projects in cost, quality, and time.
  • Implement an effective regional Supply Chain Mgmt. in cooperation with the North America Logistic Global Business Solutions organization.
  • Ensure the systematic use of SAP functions and corporate procurement tools.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and laws (Risk-Control-Matrix, Compliance).
  • Monthly monitoring of agreed upon purchasing performance indicators (KPI’s). Initiate necessary corrective action per KPI to get back on track.
  • Support application & sales in the quote to order phase with the latest pricing update and the best possible global sourcing concept for a given Project in order to secure the business opportunities.
  • Collect demand information based on an agreed upon action plans, identification of suppliers, processing of quote requests and negotiation of regional master agreements. Completion of legal contracts with assistance of the North America Law Group. Communication of supplier selection to global Voith Paper Material Management Group as needed. Capturing of monetary effects.
  • Manage Voith Paper purchasing activities within North America region in alignment with other North America Voith group divisions, e.g., align sourcing decisions, drive information sharing regional and global.
  • Monitor product and service quality, date of delivery as well as price quality of chosen suppliers.
  • Focus and lead tough purchasing negotiations. (e.g., frame agreement, major purchasing order releases, Quality back charge negotiations etc.)
  • Monitor contracts and quantities, renegotiate increases or modification of items under contract, and decide on benchmark or resourcing activities. Support forecasting activities for contract renewals. Keep all relevant data systems updated with the individual local buyers.
  • Prepare and participate in the Global Voith Paper Procurement Board meetings as well as monthly Products & Services Purchasing excellence calls.
  • Promote the further professionalization of Purchasing within Voith e.g., by participation in (cross-divisional) working groups.



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
  • Proven management skills combining strategic vision and technical competence, with in-depth experience in project execution, division management, supply chain management, and all pertinent financial reporting.
  • Clear, systematic, structured mind who can focus on goals.
  • Leadership skills with proven ability over several years to implement and to convert strategies into action plans, goals, and decisions.
  • Talent to communicate, cooperate, in a complex international organization.
  • Empowers, leads, qualifies purchasing staff to carry out functions.
  • Willing to travel regional with North America as well as international.
