Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring and improving the quality of Voith Paper products.
  • Inspecting and measuring of parts to determine conformance to specifications through use of precision measuring equipment & Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods.
  • Root-cause-analysis of quality topics to identify and implement sustainable corrective measures (continuous improvement process).
  • Communicate results of inspections and corrective suggestions to Manufacturing, Engineering, and Suppliers.
  • Execution of internal and external inspections (e.g. at customer or supplier sites).
  • Support for supplier quality topics or questions.
  • Generation and documentation of inspection reports, including Non-Conformance reports.
  • Use of a 3D measuring arm.
  • Verification of supplier quality documentation/certificates (Dimensional, Chemical, Surface, Mechanical, NDT).
  • Accepting or rejecting finished/semi-finished products and discussing inspection results with the production team and/or suppliers.

 

 

 

Requirements:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • 2 year Vocational/Technical degree or equivalent experience (Machine Tool Technician, Quality Technician, Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Technologist preferred).
  • Preferred Certification in NDT (ASNT I-III, CWI, CAWI, etc.).
  • Must have knowledge and experience with precision measuring equipment (e.g. calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, ect).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to read and understand Work Instructions, Product Specifications, and Material Certificates (e.g. complex drawings, CAD models, Bill of Materials).
  • The ability to read, understand and accurately perform all mathematical calculations required for the job.
  • Detail and results oriented, strong teamwork- and organizational skills, self-motivated and capable of working independently and multi-task.
  • Basic knowledge of Quality systems (e.g. ISO 9001).
  • Ability to operate fork trucks and cranes safely.
  • Good written, oral communication, and documentation skills.
  • Computer skills for documentation of measurements and non-conforming results in operating system (SAP, Microsoft Office).
  • Good organizational and time management skills.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for an extended amount of time, walk and reach with hands and arms. Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • The vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and adjust focus.
  • Ability to differentiate between colored wires, tabs, and electronic components.
  • Must wear gloves and ear protection.
