Summary
The Global Manufacturing Training and Development Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing learning and development initiatives tailored to the manufacturing environment. This role is critical in ensuring that our manufacturing workforce continuously improves their skills and contributes to the organization’s growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in learning and development, with a focus on manufacturing. This position will be partnered with the Global, Regional and Local teams to support implementation of the learning management system (DRIVE FRS Learning) and other Voith sponsored or external methods at all the FRS sites. Within the United States and other countries as applicable, this resource will engage with local primary and secondary education systems to establish relationships that support youth apprenticeships and apprenticeships that enable Voith to ensure a constant connection and flow of recruits. The position works closely with the identified Trainers and subject matter experts to support content creation and will help improve the LMS as needed. They will also be the lead admin for the LMS System Globally and support other admins that help manage the system processes day to day. This is a hybrid work opportunity with proximity to Appleton, Neenah, Austell, Shreveport, Florence, and West Monroe.
Responsibilities

- Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy for manufacturing employees that support global organizational goals.
- Collaborate with operations sites and subject matter experts to identify training needs and objectives to build out and implement training.
- Audit and evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives through assessments, feedback, and key performance indicators.
- Implement and maintain learning management system to track progress and training records.
- Maintain document control records with associated supporting documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements and Voith Group Learning Management System.
- Provide coaching and consulting support to business leaders to identify and resolve gaps.
- Identify industry trends and best practices through researching best in class practices.
- Will engage and cultivate relationships with educational institutions in proximity to the operating units to establish apprenticeships.
- Continuously scan the local, provincial, state, and federal opportunities for education and training grants and deploy strategies to secure and execute the grants at the operating units.
- Provide an innovation mindset and support change management of implementing new processes and learning technologies to drive training into the manufacturing sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Education or a relevant discipline).
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and training.
- Knowledge of learning management systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in training program design and delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience in the education fields with emphasis on skilled trades and or technical colleges including securing grants.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, is required. Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Demands
- Travel up to 30% of the time regionally and globally.
Work Location & Hybrid Flexibility –
Hybrid work arrangements are a possibility; however, the successful candidate must be based in the United States and reside within a reasonable commuting distance of one of Voith FRS’s U.S. operating units, Appleton WI, Austell GA, Florence MS, Neenah WI, Shreveport LA, or West Monroe LA. Periodic on-site presence is required to support hands-on collaboration with plant teams, trainers, and local education partners. Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate.
