For the Voith Paper, Assembly team, we are looking for you as a:

Production supervisor 
Hawkesbury, Canada 

The function of the Production Supervisor is to assume the direct responsibility of production functions of the entire plant, which would normally run from Monday thru Friday.




  • Assume direct supervision of plant hourly employees in accordance with the effective Collective Agreement.
  • Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Comply with the Voith directives.
  • Engage fully in the Quality and Operation Excellence (OPEX) systems.
  • Communicate job expectations, monitor and appraise job results.
  • Coach, counsel and discipline hourly employees based on the company’s procedures, systems and policies.
  • Assign jobs to the hourly workforce.
  • Assist the workforce to troubleshoot problems as they arise and make the necessary calls for help when needed.
  • Report any plant or equipment mechanical or electrical problems.
  • Maintain a journal of information, such as discussions with employees’, tardiness, security concerns, etc., that may be referred to in the future if necessary.
  • Ensure hours worked for each employee will be accurate in JDE.
  • Ensure that expenditures of Company funds are made in a judicious manner.




  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must preferably have strong mechanical aptitudes. A degree from a technical school is required.
  • Must be proficient with computers and production systems such as JD Edwards, excel, word, and Outlook.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing (Opex).
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing effectively.
  • Must be well organized, a self-starter, and able to work with no supervision.
  • Requires the ability to work under time restraints and prioritize rush work, multiple tasks and demands as required.
  • Must be able to effectively gather, organize, analyze, and present data as required.
  • Requires exposure to industrial environments.
  • Must pass company physical with no major limitations.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s licence.
  • Bilingualism is a strong asset.
  • Will preferably live within 20 km of the plant to allow reporting with 30 minutes maximum.
