Journeyman Mechanic  
Appleton, WI

Position is for 12-hour day shift (6am-6pm). This will follow a 2-2-3 schedule with every other weekend being a 3 day week off. Overtime is available.

Summary:

The Industrial Mechanic position requires knowledge to safely repair, troubleshoot and support plant operations for Press Fabrics Manufacturing and Building maintenance. This includes abilities such as Welding, Milling and Lathe operation. 

Responsibilities:

• Mechanics main responsibilities is to keep production equipment running efficiently on a day to day basis. This includes Mechanical, Pneumatic and Piping systems. 
• Troubleshoot building and process support equipment to supply steam, hot oil and air.
• Keep production equipment running efficiently on a day to day basis. This includes Mechanical, Pneumatic and Piping systems.
• Repair and maintain buildings, and building and process support equipment in accordance with blueprints, manuals, sketches, and building codes. Design and layout projects from oral instructions.
• Should have experience in setups and practices used in working on large equipment.
• All mechanical tooling, drills, taps, pullers, bearing heaters, presses, Lathe and Milling machine.
• Weld all types of metal according to layouts, sketches, and blueprints using wire feed welding, brazing, and arc welding processes. Perform related tasks such as flame cutting, grinding, etc.
• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal equipment such as control boxes, ductwork and guards.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma preferred but not required if the experience level, determined by Voith management, off-sets this requirement.
• Experienced millwright preferred.
• Applicants for this job must possess a Journeyman Mechanic Certification Card or an Associate’s Degree or greater in a Mechanical field.
